Directions for use: Adults take 1-2 capsules daily, with or without food.
Warnings: Theoretically, taking large amounts of black cohosh with hepatotoxic medications and/or during compromised liver function, may increase the risk of liver damage (eg. due to the inhibition of cytochrome P450 enzymes such as CYP3A4).
Avoid use during pregnancy and lactation. The evidence that black cohosh causes liver damage is not conclusive. Until more is known, monitor clients who take Black Cohosh for signs of compromised liver function.
In very rare cases, black cohosh has been associated with liver failure. If you are experiencing yellowing of the skin or whites of the eyes, dark urine, nausea, vomiting, unusual tiredness, weakness, stomach or abdominal pain, and/or loss of appetite, you should stop using this product and see your doctor.
Phytoestrogens have demonstrated numerous long term protective health benefits. However those with a history of oestrogen-sensitive cancers should consult with a medical professional before using this medicine, to confirm the suitability of any doses.
Avoid use during pregnancy and lactation.
