Protective effect on gastrointestinal mucosa and gut integrity: Glutamine protects the integrity of the intestinal tract by reducing mucosal permeability and increasing secretory IgA (sIgA) secretion and therefore inhibiting the adherence and translocation of gram negative bacteria.^5,9 In addition, glutamine and zinc exert action on the tight junctions of the intestines, regulating the junction integrity.^10,11

Glutamine reduces mucosal permeability and regulates the PI3-Kinase/Akt pathway while zinc is involved in the organisation of tight junction and adherens junction proteins.^9,5,10,11

Directions

Adults:

Add 2 level scoops (7.7 g) to 200 mL water twice daily with food
