Traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help alleviate infectious and inflammatory conditions of the digestive tract such as gastritis; as a bitter to aid digestion and to increase appetite (stomachic). Also traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to help relieve digestive disturbances such as dyspepsia and as a mild laxative.

Adults: 1 tablet 2-3 times daily

MediHerb Golden Seal is free from gluten, soya bean, milk, lactose, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, crustacea, corn, egg, sesame seeds or artificial colours.
Excipients
Calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate, colloidal anhydrous silica, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, maltodextrin, microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, sodium starch glycollate
Warnings
- Do not use if pregnant or likely to become pregnant.
- Berberine may reinforce the effects of other drugs which displace the protein binding of bilirubin.
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
- Caution in patients taking midazolam.
- If diarrhoea persists for more than 6 hours in infants under 6 months, 12 hours in children under 3 years, 24 hours in children aged 3 – 6 years or 48 hours in adults and children over 6 years, seek medical advice.
- Until definitive research is available, do not use in jaundiced neonates.
- Discontinue 7 days prior to general anaesthesia
- If patient symptoms persist, seek additional professional advice.
